Please help identify this doll
« on: Saturday 18 February 2012, 08:03 am »
Hi. I have been looking through many catalogues and doll books. Can someone send me to the right direction please? I can't identify the doll in this picture! Thank you

I did more research on the photograph and found out it has been taken by a famous Czech photographer Jan SAUDEK in 1974 and the photographs is called Panny, probably short for Panenky which means doll. Is there a place where I can find more info on East European dolls from 60's and 70's?

It might be a German doll. Have you tried Zapf?

Thank you so much. That's really useful.  I am checking it out. I went through all the categories of dolls on ebay site. She looks a little like Love me Linda and Marie Osmond dolls. But  are there any other European doll brands? Where can I find a list of European dolls brand's Names? She does look European, German, French or Italian...

Thank you again!
