Little vintage doll and Sindy.....
« on: Sunday 22 April 2012, 04:55 pm »
I struck it lucky at a car boot sale today - coming home with a bundle of goodies which hardly cost a thing!

I'm having trouble ID'ing these guys - help would be appreciated!  :)

Little vintage doll.

So adorable! She was in a bag with 70s era dolls. She is marked 'made in Hong Kong', as are her clothes and shoes.

Hasbro Sindy -

She has long wavy hair, so I thought maybe she is Cool Fun or Summer Looks. But her hair parting looks like it's meant to be in bunches so I thought maybe Football Sindy? Anyone recognise her?

Thanks for looking  :-* xxxx

Is there a manufacturer stamped on your little 70's doll?

My best guess is that she's a skipper clone from the 1960's -- so a clone of the original 9" skipper. The side-glancing eyes are a give away to the general age; most (but not all) Barbie and Barbie-like dolls went to straight eyes in the mid to late 60's. Looks like she's nicer than many, and you don't often see them looking to the right.

If you can get the head safely off without risk of splitting it, you MIGHT check inside the rim for a manufacturer's name.

Could the girl in the red coat be a Dolly Darling or a Tiny Teen?
