Some Ponies/Horses (not mlp) and a doll from the 50s
« on: Sunday 20 May 2012, 02:46 am »
So you guys may or may not be able to help me with a lot of these.

Also, I have an entire set of horses that are similar to "Grand Champions" but are not. I have some grand champions, but I do not believe these felt horses are.

Semi IDed:
And my mom's doll from the 1950s. She's in pretty bad shape. Her hair is a mess. She's been in storage for a very long time. I know she's a 50s grocery store doll. Trying to get my mom to measure her. She does have opening and closing eyes and long lashes.

The first one is an Enchanted Kingdom Horse, probably this one:

You got lucky when you posted your 50s doll here. I've been trying to find my mom's 1950s bride doll, but apparently hers is rare, and I keep finding photos of YOURS instead!

Your doll is a Bonnie the Beautiful Bride from the Deluxe Reading Co. She was released dozens of times, sometimes with different faces and hair colors. I'm fairly certain that's a "real" one, though. Of all the supermarket dolls, she's the most recognized.

Actually, thanks for giving me a starting point, but she's not a Bonnie. She doesn't have the switch in her back to make her throw the bouquet.

This website might also help you ID your mom's doll.

I'm trying to ID by dress and her dress is very different from a lot of the others. It has no ruffles. It's silk with a mesh and sparkle overlay. I've had a hard time laying my hands on a pic that looks like that....

If you'd tell me about your mom's or post a pic I might could look while I was looking for my mom's.

Update on My Mom's Doll:

I think I've found her!!!

I did get to measure her.
She's 18" tall

The only markings on her are underneath her hair on the back of her head "14R--1"

She is hollow plastic with movable joints (shoulders and hips). She has  panties on underneath her dress.

She does have "beddy bye" eyes, or the kind that open and close with long lashes.

She has holes in her ears where earrings once were but are no more.
She also no longer has shoes.

My mom said she thinks she's a 1960s doll because she was born in 57 and doesn't think she got her earlier than 4 or 5.

I'm bumping this because I have two of those flocked horses, one is mine, the other belonged to a neighbour who gave hers to me before she moved away.
