[ID: Sweet Scents] Peppermint TNT scented doll?
« on: Friday 09 April 2010, 08:14 pm »
So I was all excited for the TNT Sweet Scents page to go up, but it turns out my doll is not there! I thought about it and I'm almost positive she's supposed to be peppermint. She has light pink hair and pigtails like some of the others, but she is wearing a very bright green, pink, and white stripey dress with hot pink tights and white cloth shoes. Can anyone confirm? I would take a picture of her but she's at my parent's house.

Still very excited to have ID'd her at last, I thought she was a no-name doll for awhile but all the discussion of SSC fakies on the other thread lead me to the TNT dolls.

This is one of the dolls that I got at the flea market a few years ago. There was a lady who used to collect all the AA versions of dolls and was letting go of her collection. I got this and quints. Stupidly passed up on one of the large Baby Sitters Club dolls (Jessie, obviously).

She's "Mint." I don't know what the white version would have looked like. I assume like the sticker? :)

Here's part of my description:
The box reads: "Sweet Scents. For Ages Over 4. 5.5" Candy Scented Poseable Doll with Removable Outfit. Be Kind to the Environment. Recycle This Package. Toys N' Things. 30 Canton Road, Kowloon, Hong Kong. Made in China. No. 4240B." The back is plain cardboard with a barcode at the bottom (no info about other dolls or anything like that).

While I'm here, I'll add another one I sold (Lanard). I'll also see what eBay images I have saved. :)

Lanard Jelly Bean TM Doll - Lucy Lemon MOC/Mint on Card from 1981. According to the front of the card, she is No. 7001 and is not Recommended for children over 3 years of age.  She is "Sweetly Lemon Scented. Smells so fresh 'n clean. Lemon Scent." "Beautiful realistic hair Poseable Body Changeable clothing Collect them all!" The other two dolls to look out for are Cindy Cinnamon and Very Cherry. The bottom of the card reads "Copyright (C) 1981 The Jelly Bean Company, Inc. All Rights Reserved. Lanard Toys Limited Made in Hong Kong.

Lanard Crayon Doll: It came with a little chalkboard and chalk in a holder that attaches to the doll's arm. And a little sponge eraser. I think that the crayon is just part of the packaging artwork? I know that the green doll is one of the unidentified dolls on NovemberBlue's doll page. http://home.comcast.net/~mjm1977/lanard_sports.htm

This line is my favorite (Baby Petals):

Oooh yes I think that is her dress! I guess I remembered the right colors but not the right pattern. Thanks a bunch!

LOVE those Baby Petal dolls! I have never seen them before, they are adorable. I like their cute little chins.  :D

She's by "Fun World", I believe. Good luck! Keep me in mind if you find any extras. :)

That company also made those cute little beanie "Matchbox" dolls that were scented. Oh, and the Milkshake and Bubble Gum SSC fakies...

I think you mean not reccomended for children UNDER 3 years of age, or reccomended fgor children OVER three years of age!

*sigh* You're right of course. I don't think the buyer noticed. And you can read what it really says on the box for yourself. :-P I just like to write as much info about the doll as possible in my eBay descriptions so that anyone searching that might not know the exact name of the doll can find it. Of course I didn't post what I wrote about her outfit, etc. :)

I wonder if the white version of the doll has the green ribbon sash and bow like on the sticker or the yellow version?

I see that the Crayon Doll is by both Mel Appel and Lanard?

Hi Guys, I have added a request for help with these dolls into my forum (which I have intended to do before uploading but forgot  ::) ).

Zuse ~ I've added in your "Mint" doll image, if it's not ok just let me know and I'll remove it.

I thought I'd added in a page for Jelly Bean dolls last week, but seems I forgot to upload it! It's there now though...

Found something interesting from the Lanard Jelly Bean line (also Ceppi Ratti Dolls). It's like a compact/powder box with a mirror. It lights up.

So, are we sure there is a Peppermint doll? On the sticker for Mint is a picture of a Candy Cane...?

Found a pic of the white version of the "Mint" doll.

And also "Morning Glory," another Fun-World Baby Petals doll.

Yay, that is my mint doll! Nice to see her in her original packaging. I assumed that there was only one minty doll, and not a seperate candy cane-themed one. Then again, there are so many of these coming out of the woodworks that I guess there could have been one.
