[ID: Tiny Baby 'N Basket by Cititoy 1987] Unknown Baby Figures

These two dolls were purchased (packaged separately) at the Dollar Store in the early 90s. They are made of a squishy rubbery plastic. They came with the accessory/blanket pictured.

They have always been some of my favorite figures. They were the kids of my Barbies. (I liked them way better than the Mattel babies).

Looking at them now, they seem like they *might* be based off of a cartoon or comic? The closest thing I could think of would be Harold and the Crayon... but they're not really that close.

I've seen other color versions of the boy. I'm pretty sure I've seen a yellow diaper version. :) I don't remember what the other choices were at the store or what the packaging looked like. I doubt I would have been allowed to get one of every color.

Those are tough!  They remind me of lots of things, but nothing that is right :(  Do you know if they have a stamp or anything?

Nope. Nothing. And I'm positive they were from the dollar store (whichever one was in either the Briarcliff Mall or Waccamaw in the Myrtle Beach area in the early 1990s). They were packaged separately. I have seen the boy baby with a yellow diaper in eBay lots before.

(Good size references)

I am no help in identifying them but I also have 2 of them so I thought I would show them as well

Girl has pink diaper, green bow.  Boy has yellow diaper.

Awesome! I love them. So, there are at least 4 different ones (although the picture of the one with the Liddle Kiddles doesn't seem to have a blue diaper, so maybe 5!)

A long time ago I saved an photo of a random eBay lot with Barbie baby accessories. I cropped out the yellow toy that looks just like my pink one. So, did they just copy an existing toy... or does this belong with these dolls as well? :)

I actually found one at a thrift store and picked it up, thinking it would somehow unlock the secrets... I still got nothing :P

If you're that keen to unlock it's secrets maybe you should cut it in half  :o

So, I have the baby doll in the red dress from this "Love-Baby" line of Steffi-Love by Simba (And by the plastic in those is terrible - mine was already turning darker pink and melty within the first years I had it). And now I'm wondering if my pink duck toy really belongs to her? I swear that I always associated the blanket and toy with my two dollar-store dolls (and the toys I did that with I'm generally finding out did come like that and I was trying to keep them together). Anyone ever seen any of the dolls in this line in-package? Did they all come with the duck toy?

Looks like the one baby is being released now with the pregnant moms? Eyes are different, though.
