[ID: Glo Pals] Light-Up Lanard toy cat?
« on: Monday 19 April 2010, 08:20 am »
I used to have a toy cat by Lanard Toys (apparently) that used to light up, I THINK, in its stomach.  I have always wondered for years what in the heck it was!!  I believe we got it at Toys-R-Us but I could be mistaken.  The first image is the one I had.

Any clues are appreciated.  :)

I remember this toy and this is why:

I remember being in the toy section with my mum and a lady standing next to us was looking at these and she turned as asked my mum if she thought it was a good present for a girl 'x' age and then bent down and showed me and asked me if I thought it was and I is it something I would like to get as a present. She did get it in the end.

I think it lit up or did something too. You say Lanard toys apparently - so is there a mark on it anywhere or that's some other information you've found?

Found one for sale on ebay-

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1994-LANARD-LIGHT-UP-RUBBER-CAT_W0QQitemZ380168262235QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item5883cb525b

it doesn't say what the toy is called, but it seems to be worth quite a lot.

I think this is more listed as 'how much can I get for this' rather than a reflection of actual value/what someone would pay for it. They weren't a popular toy and I don't think lanard is a particularly popular company to collect from. That's my 2 cents.

It's a shame there aren't more to compare it to.

Hi guys, these toys are called Glo Pals and I have so far seen six different colours. I'll whip up a quick page for them as there isn't much to add at the moment!

Those are adorable. I love em. Too bad the ones listed on ebay are so expensive. But they are cute....

I think I had this toy at some point but it is long gone now much like most of my child hood toys.

I was going to ask about these myself eventually!  My two are different though:

That's really neat to see others!
