Swim Ways Fairy Tale Mermaids
« on: Saturday 24 April 2010, 08:06 pm »
I saw these dolls and thought of all the Mermaid lovers over here. Not just a mermaid, though... a FAIRY mermaid, haha (with a fairy seahorse and comb). :) I think that's a pool toy brand. They were on the shelf with other pool supplies at Walgreens. So cute. :)

I see these all the time. I kinda like them but haven't decided if I really want any of them or not. Their face looks similar to Rose-Petal Place dolls to me. But some of them also look kinda scary. I think it's the way their eyes are painted..

I don't know... I'm torn too. But they're $6-7 here and I'm not going to pay that, haha.

They also have one larger one by the same company:

Fantaseas Mermaid

I don't think that one is still sold, though.

I like them.  They remind me of a lot of the old dolls, facially.  I have a few that I've picked up at thrift stores.

I nominate them as a 2000s toy, haha. If only they'd done the same eyes on the little ones as they did on that larger one and they'd be AWESOME.

I second your nomination :)

The mermaid head also comes on a pool floater doll:

And the floater dolls also come with more cute, 80s reminscent heads:

Adorable! Reminiscent of the Sea-Wees and My Pretty Mermaids. Would set any collector's, nostalgia buff's, or little girl's heart all aglow. Would like to get some of these dolls for my "nieces" (quotes because they're really my cousin's daughters.) You get these little beauties at Walgreens?

Ahaha I don't know about these! It's like someone took everything I like and ran it through some machine and out popped this toy...all they're missing is rhinestones. I love that larger mermaid, though--her face is much nicer. If I had a little sister I would totally pretend to buy that for her and play with it myself.
Wish List!
-Any Merwees (CAP Toys)
-Lady Lovely Locks Seek & Peek board game
-Used/nude Fashionista Ken

I have a neice. I 'bought her' a dollhouse. But it's at my house and it's mine! She's nearly 2 and I've got a nephew that's 3 and they always want aunty to take them to look at the toys (aunty also tends to buy them something!) My BIL is boring and tells me off and says he doesn't want them to be spoiled. I just say yes, yes, yes while in my head I go 'blah, blah, blah'! I have cut back though. It's just especially if I see something at a really good price (like on clearance) that I know they'll like I want to buy it for them. I have a spending problem  ::)

I think it's probably available at a lot of places (Wal-Mart?) Just look with the seasonal area with summer pool toys. I think they were sold last summer as well?

They were sold last summer and I have seen them available at Wal-Mart and Toys R Us this year.

Yep, the little ones. I thought that was pricey too, but I bet they marked them up cause of summer.

Yeah, they were only $7 or so at Walgreens? And usually toys at drugstores are very overpriced!
