Lots of Doll Clothes to ID (various sizes)
« on: Friday 01 March 2013, 05:45 pm »
I bought a lot of doll clothes last week off ebay that was full of 1980s doll clothes.  I collect and restore My Child dolls, and the lot had a pair of My Child white T-bars, pink seersucker jacket, green ducky overalls, and shirt for the green ducky set.  It also had 2 pairs of white CPK T-bars and a pair of black ones.  Those work well on My Child dolls.

Anyway, I've IDed several items already (PJ Sparkles dress & shoes, CPK clothes, Heart Family clothing, Cherry Merry Muffin clothing, Princess Magic Touch dress, Raggedy Ann shirt, etc), but some I haven't.  Any help?

Lots of pics, so I'll just give direct links.  I've included clothes I've ID'd (marked with letters) for size comparison:

Inside tag says Made in China and has some numbers that begin with R.
There is another dress that is virtually identical to this one, except it's pale yellow (see bottom right hand corner) and is a bit longer (the gown has more material to lengthen it after that second row of lace at the bottom).

12. Cabbage Patch Kids mystery outfit
It is marked CPK on the green bow, and it has these little alien looking cabbage patch kids on the yellow part and says Cosmic CPKids all over it.  Close-up:  http://i47.tinypic.com/mtup9e.jpg Did they make alien themed Cabbage Patch Kids?  I can't find anything about it on the web.  Help?

Isn't #25 for Lady Lovely Locks?

That's what I thought in the actual auction pictures because it looked sooo much like something for LLL.  But when I got it, I looked up the clothes on GotD and couldn't find it.  I found a fan site for Lady Lovely Locks and still couldn't find anything that looks like that.  Maybe it's from a fake?  Or a company that made off-brand clothes for those dolls?

Thanks so much for the IDs so far.  Knowing that the shoes are Lil Miss Magic Hair confirms my thoughts on the leotard.  Funny, I saw a Lil Miss doll at a thrift store today (naked).  I had Lil Miss Makeup as a child.

The Barbie horse reminded me.  I had All-American Ken with his Reeboks.  That was my favorite Ken doll.  Didn't have the horse.  I had the Western Stampin' horse.  ;)

Oh, and I found a Baby Grows Up doll wearing the shirt!

If only there was one in a box to confirm it.
Is it just me, or is that doll wearing the #2 shoes I need IDed?
I've dropped that seller a friendly message asking if she (or he) can definitely confirm that those are the original clothes).

the yellow dress with the sewn on bib (number 7) is a Tyco Newborn Baby Shivers Doll dress.

Yeah, I was thinking later on, "I shouldn't have said certainly that that was not the name of the doll; it could have had the same name!" Sorry about that. :P

25 could be one of the nightgowns from the barbie dreams furniture and clothing sets

41 is definitely a "shirt tales" shirt.

#6 is definitely the shirt for Baby Grows. You can find a pic of her wearing it on wishbookweb.com in the 1988 Sears catalog.  :)

Oh!  I totally forgot to check Wish Book Web!  The seller contacted me back, confirming it was the original outfit, and the pics in the Wish Book ID it too.  That takes care of the shoes and shirt.

I also researched Tiny Tees.  Shirts Illustrated made a line of teddy bear t-shirts called Tiny Tees, so it's probably a generic teddy bear T-shirt by them.  I don't think it's Shirt Tales.  Hallmark would have put their copyright info in it.

While browsing the Wish Book, I saw a toy I totally forgot about!  Stray Cats!  They're in the 1986 Sears catalog on that site.  Same page as Furskins and Need-a-Littles.  I had the gray one.  Did anyone else have a Stray Cat?  I remember the dress that could be turned inside out and the clip on barrette.  Holy cow, I had totally forgotten those.

#9 looks like a training bra/undershirt situation for a small child
#28 looks like Baby Miss Piggy's Christmas dress

I came across this, http://www.ebay.com/itm/Barbie-Fashion-Glittery-Sparkly-Gown-Teal-Silver-Pastel-Freshly-De-boxed-/281048290956?pt=US_Dolls_Bears_Toys&hash=item416fc8968c , which is like #35 and probably from the same line... if only we knew what that line was. :P

I think number 15 could be a pair of overalls from a cpk koosa critter but I am not sure. I was also thinking 25 could be lady lovelylocks, but if it's not hers than maybe a peppermint rose or rose petal palace fashion? And her is a picture of your shirt with the balloons on Baby Grows...
