I found this kelly sized doll at a yard sale where they had a bunch of 80/90's things. She has no markings other than made in china but she seems too well made to just be a no name toy. She has a pair of mesh fabric undies underneath.

Here is another doll exactly the same. No info on here either. She's not mine.

She is one of the run of the mill Kelly fakies, from dollar stores (I think Dollar General).  She *might* be the KB Toys brand of fakie, which was slightly better made.

Even if she is a Kelly fakie she probably has a name and there might even been other dolls in the set. Those TNT dolls were thought of as just "SSC fakies" until a little research had been done.

I guess we are getting into a deep "what constitutes a fakie" discussion here.  But I gotta say- that doll is made with the Mattel Kelly body/face mold.  No modifications other than paint differences and quality.  These dolls were meant to fit in the Kelly line, but as a cheaper, knock off alternative.  In my opinion, that means fakie.

The Sweet Scents are their own line with their own molds.  They are newer than the vintage SSC dolls that one would compare them to (many came out in the 2000s, removed even from the 90s SSC dolls).  While they were cheaper than the bigger brands, and there seems to have been a large production run of different ones (less character branding), they still remain a solid line, with their own molding.  They were independent, not reliant on fitting in with a main stream toy line.

Regarding your particular fakie, there absolutely were others in the "series."  As in, at the Dollar Store (or KB for more of a mark up) where she was sold, they were using the Kelly mold all over the place, probably in a Disney Princess rip off capacity.  The line probably has a name... and it's probably "Princess" or "Princess Dollie" Or "Princess Kelli".

Have you looked in a Dollar General store?  I suspect this one might have been a KB run, so no checking that anymore, but if it was DG, they could be on shelves right now.  Which Kelly fakies they have at any particular time changes- sometimes they are just using the Kelly mold head on a fatter, cheaper body, other times the whole Kelly doll (like the one you have pictured).  Might be worth a look if you are really curious.

Oh I have no doubt she is a "fakie". It just seems when people dig deeper and get over brand snobbery that "fakies" end up having just as rich a background as the ones made by the big companies. I know a lot of headway has been made on MLP fakies as almost a backlash by those that do not like what Hasbro is currently putting out but most Kelly fans seem to avoid "fakies" like the plague. I don't have any Dollar Generals up this way just Deals, Dollar Tree, and Family Dollar and I have not seen any similar dolls in any of those stores. Plus I am pretty sure it is not a current doll since I got a vintage Rainbow Brite doll at the same yard sale I got her and there were a lot of other 80'/90's toys there but nothing else I collect.

No brand snobbery here :)  I'm an avid fakie collector, in fact, of both MLP fakies and Kelly fakies.  And fakies of most toys that interest me, which is a lot.  As such, I can tell you she isn't vintage- she was made in the last 7-10 years (a 2000s release).  Guaranteed.  Again, I believe she is from KB, but the exact store that released her I can't be sure because there are so many fakies like her that I see all the time.

I have both her and an auburn haired one that I believe was supposed to be the Ariel rip off in my personal collection.  I can't tell you their exact doll name (because it will be very generic) but I can tell you they are fairly recent and that they are likely a Disney rip off line.  I saw them in stores when they were out, but again, due to the number of Kelly mold fakies, I don't recall which store exactly it was.

Its entirely possible that she was realeased back in the 80/90's and then rereleased sometime in the 2000's. I know some pony fakies came out during 2 different times.

Does the auburn hair one have a different color dress? I'd really like to see pics either way.

The Kelly mold wasn't even created until 1994- not an 80s doll.  I know she is from the 2000s, but if you feel yours is an earlier edition, it could be possible- she could be late 90s.

Here is the auburn haired one- she looks like a wedding ariel to me, but I got her second hand so I don't know for sure this was her dress.  I assume they all came in gowns though (as opposed to the mermaid fins that some waves of Kelly fakies sport).

The face definitely looks the same so they were probably made by the same company however I still think she might have been from a different line. I can't think of a single Disney princess with black hair that wears a dress like my doll but yours definitely looks like she is supposed to be Ariel.

Oh Jasmine would definitely be a possibility. I am surprised I didn't even think of her since she is actually my favorite princess. I guess the fact that she isn't darker threw me off. Disney Princesses were pretty big in the late 90's when Mattel released all those "Dancing Princess", "Bubble Princess", etc sets. Especially since this was when Disney was still making hand drawn fairy tale movies fairly often. If these are based on the Disney Princesses I wonder which other ones they did and what they look like. I figure they must have done Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and Belle besides Ariel and Jasmine since those other movies came out before Aladdin. however if there are any others besides those is murky. Sometimes Pocahontas and Mulan were included as those movies came out and for a while Tinkerbell was included before she got her own series and friends.
