WuvLuvs :: Adults

"A wee surprise inside!"

WuvLuvs were produced by Trendmasters in 1999. They were 11 inch high, furry interactive creatures which "gave birth" to an egg from a pouch inside their bellies.
They were sold in US, UK, France, Japan and Greece (that I know of). In Greece they were produced by Trendmasters/Hasbro, in Japan by Trendmasters/Takara, and in France by Trendmasters/Tomy.

They were sold in the US, UK and other parts of Europe and I currently know of three name variations:

  • USA: WuvLuvs
  • UK: Wuvvies
  • France: Lovies

"Mommy has a magical surprise!"

"Ah, the joy of motherhood. With the jubilant exclamation, "here comes baby!" these adorable electronic plush companions "give birth" to a little WuvLuv that hatches from a uniquely decorated egg. The bond between mother and baby is immediately established as mommy WuvLuv chooses one of 60 names for her wee offspring and they begin to communicate. Furry and friendly, WuvLuvs are able to give birth over and over again, providing hours of interactive fun. With numerous sweet, nurturing phrases and sound effects, the wide-eyed mother and child can talk and sing songs, including such favourites as 'The Itsy Bitsy Spider' and the 'ABC' song. The magical creatures are available in six bright colours and come complete with a brush, birth certificate and four pieces of flower food enabling children to "nourish" WuvLuv and baby."

  • You can get Wuvvies to play & talk with you by Petting her back, rocking her in your arms or talking or singing to her.
  • Wuvvies enjoy eating their “Num-Nums” play flowers. She will make happy feeding sounds when you feed her.
  • Mother gives birth to baby.
  • Mother & baby interact & sing.
  • Antenna lights up.
  • Eyes move.
  • Wuvvies also kisses her baby when they rub noses.

Accessories

WuvLuvs each came with a baby inside an egg (some came with two), a brush, heart-shaped reset key, four plastic flowers (called "Num-Nums") and birth certificate. The original WuvLuvs sang "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and "The ABC Song", whilst WuvLuvs2 sang "I'm A Little Teapot" and "The ABC Song". I'm not entirely sure of the difference between WuvLuvs and WuvLuvs2, but suspect there were more interactive features.
