90s Toy Claw Machine?
« on: Wednesday 06 March 2013, 05:18 am »
I am trying to remember an old toy claw machine I used to have.
If I remember well it had sea creatures in it. It was blue or teal. It had two levers to move up and down and left to right. Every time you caught all the creatures there was a small door on the top to put them back in again.
There was no coins or tokens to make it work.
It really resembles the cranes they have in the entrances/exits of some stores. The cranes you have to put 25 or 50 cents in that has a bunch of stuffed animals in you have to try to win.
It is battery operated. It might have been a foot and a half wide and a foot tall.
Thank you to anyone who can help me find it.

*giggle* *blush* I was so confused the first time I read this! I was thinking of a "crane" as in a heavy piece of machinery used on building sites. I was wondering in what country stores had them at their entrance/exit. *shakes head* I feel silly. :P

Yes, but there are toy cranes (birds) and toy cranes (machinery). That's what we were thinking. ;)

I did say it's like the big cranes you find in the entrance of some stores. Unless some states don't have any in store entrances. Yes I can see how it was confusing even though I tried to make it less confusing.

Trying to do some follow up here.  When you say "it was like that one" do you mean it was that one?  If not, how was it different?  How was it similar?

No it isn't that one. I meant it was similar to that one.
The claw is the same. There were I think only two levers. No coin slot. It didn't need any coins to make it work. I believe he door the toys come out of is on the same side. The crane was blue and may be white. Hard to remember.
I wasn't for candy it had small plastic toys in it. When you get all the toys out you can throw them back in and pick them all out over and over again.

Try this one on for size.  The coloring doesn't match yours; but often the same manufacturer will make several colors.  Scroll WAY down the page near the bottom or use the "find" feature on your browser and look for "claw mania".

This is the closest I can find to it. Almost the same color. More of a teal or sea green color. But it has three levers and not two. Also the one I am looking for has it's own toys that come with it. Sea creature themed.

I saw some on google that were red with candy inside but not exactly what I am looking for. I saw some sea-themed claw machines even the same color I am looking for but it just has little fish.
I think the one I had an octopus, clam, squid, etc.
