Snugglebumms were produced by Playskool in the mid 1980's and comprised of babies which giggled when shook, adults which lit up when hugged, pets, bugs, miniatures and books. The babies were 4.5 inches and the adults 5.5 inches high. In Germany they were called Knuffelbunt, Bum Bum in France and Trolie Woelies somewhere else!

All images on this page are my own exept for Dearly and Lightly. Shyly variation thanks to Ruth!

Baby Snugglebumms

Baby Snugglebumms had plastic bodies, long fur like hair and a "giggler/tweeter" inside which made a noise when shook. Each baby came with a comb and either a hat or hairband with feelers on.

There were 9 baby Snugglebumms and four different poses. Dearly and Lightly may have only been released in Germany. Glady was the least popular at the time but now the most sort after!

Variations

Shyly

Not only is this Shyly in a different pose from the common version above, but in a completley new pose too! I have heard there was a Fondly produced with pink (rather than purple) hair and a Spritly with darker blue hair. I don't know of any other Snugglebumm's produced in more than one pose.
