Year 7
had fifteen new sets of ponies and eight
new sets of special offer ponies. There was also four new
playsets, two re-issued playsets and one new accessory.

Fancy Pants Ponies [UK name "Playtime
Baby Ponies", + UK variations] |

Baby Fancy Pants Ponies,
rather than having symbols, had white painted-on
pants with colourful designs on them. Some ponies
were First Tooth and some had an
extra colour in the front of their manes. All light
pink hair ages to white over time.
In the UK Baby
Fancy Pants were sold under the name Playtime
Baby Ponies and included four of the six
the US set (no Baby Bows or Baby Sunnybunch) and
also included two ponies from the US set of
Playtime Baby Brother Ponies (Baby Drummer
and Baby Paws). In the UK, Baby Splashes and Baby
Starburst also had different coloured hair and symbols
too.
They each came with one small accessory
(a stacking toy or a pull duck), dish and spoon,
cup, brush or comb, a plain ribbon and a frilly
lace & mesh bow. The accessories
remained the same in the US and UK.

Pretty Pals |

There were
four sets of Baby Ponies and Pretty Pals,
continuing on from the idea of non equine animal
friends. Each set included one baby pony and one
baby animal, who had matching symbols and similar
colours. This series was never sold in the UK, but
was available in some parts of Europe.
Each set came with one large accessory
(wagon or sandbox), one smaller accessory (stacking
toy or dish with spoons), a bottle, teddy bear brush,
duck comb and two hair ribbons.

Candy Cane Ponies
were scented like their names and had two tone,
ringletted hair. They were the third set of scented
ponies. In the UK only four of
the six were released (no Lemon Treats or Mint Dreams,
although some did become available as clearence
after the US production stopped around Year 10).
One pony was also sold with a different name.
Each pony came with a lollipop,
ice cream sundae or ice cream cone hairclip, plus
a candy comb and a hair ribbon.

Dance 'n Prance Ponies
had a flower-shaped brooch on their chests, which
when wound up would make their tail spin. They had
shorter tails than normal with a clear tube wrapped
around the base which was surrounded by a coloured
ring with raised hearts. They were the next step
up from Year 6's Happy Tail Ponies.
They each came with several accessories:
earrings with jeweled center, a boa (one of three
colors), a metallic gold mesh ribbon, a bird or
flower hairclip, a clip with a false piece of hair
with tinsel and a brush or comb

Loving Family Ponies
were three families of ponies. In the US
each family consited of mummy, daddy and one baby,
but in the UK the set came with
both adults and two babies (one boy and one girl).
Because of this, the babies had the added name of
brother or sister (then family name) in the UK,
but in the US they were just baby (then family name).
Their symbols covered their whole sides, like the
Twice As Fancy Ponies, but none
on their cheeks.
In the UK there
were three sets of baby accessories designed for
them, sold seperatly: Playpen & Duck,
High Chair & Bottle and Trolley
& Rattle.
The family idea was continued in
Year 11 with Family Friends & Family
Babies.
Each family came with a flower brush,
flowers hairpick and two hair ribbons. In the UK
they also came with a bow around their necks.

as Fancy Sundance |

Megan
and Twice as Fancy Sundance was the third
and final version of this duo. They were first released
in Year 3, then again as So Soft in Year 4. Megan
was given a slightly different face and Sundance
was now a Twice as Fancy pony.
They both had sections
of hair which changed from white (Sundance) or blond
(Megan) to pink in the sunshine, similar to year
7's Sunshine Ponies. They were
not sold in UK.

set of newborns to not be twins, as the previous two
sets were in Year 5 and 6. They all had curly hair.
Two more sets were released in Year's 11 and 12, but
were not sold in the US.
Each pony came with an all-white baby
bottle and a duck comb.

Baby Brother Ponies were
the first set of all boy ponies. They were in the
Peek-A-Boo style, with turnable heads.
Only Baby
Paws and Baby Drummer were
sold in the UK. They were released
as part of a set called Playtime Baby Ponies,
which also included four of the six Fancy
Pants Baby Ponies from this year.
Each pony came with
a bandana, a xylophones with hammer, dish with spoon,
brush or comb and hair ribbon.

Princess Brush 'n Grow Ponies
returned from Year 6 but
this time with a princess theme. As before, had
amazing tails which could grow even longer by gently
pulling it. You could then twist their head to retract
the tail again. They also had extra long manes and
jewels on their foreheads.
Each pony came with two 'I LUV YOU'
hair-clips, heart-and-dot style brush & comb
and hair ribbon.

Sparkle
Ponies had see-through
glitter-filled plastic bodies and tinsel in their
hair. They were originaly a special offer set from
Year 6, except the shop bought ponies differed slightly
from the original ones. The special offer ponies had
a small symbol under one eye, where as the shop bought
ones did not. Two ponies also had different coloured
hair (Napper and Star Hopper). This set was available
in the UK, unklike the special offer set.
Each pony came with
a brush or comb and a ribbon.

Sunshine
Ponies had streaks
in their hair that change colour in the warm sunlight.
The streak was either white or pink and would change
to magenta. Their symbols were beach themed and covered
their whole sides, like the Twice As Fancy
Ponies, but none on their cheeks. The concept
of colour-changing hair was used again in Year 10
with the Sundazzle Ponies.
Only four of these
ponies were released in the UK, with
Sea Flower and Shoreline never making it.
