Subbuteo Score!
Found in the Salvation Army charity shop this afternoon on my way home from work, Subbuteo from 1991 for £3.00! Unfortunately the fabric pitch was missing, but there was a scoreboard set and pamphlet in its place. I also found an additional England team for £1.00.
Party On, Equestria!
I took a few items down the road to a local charity shop last weekend (some books and a green bow-tie) and came back with more than I dropped off! I found a Fisher Price plane, Waynes World 1 & 2, My Little Pony pot & Equestria Girls doll, plus a couple of CD’s.
Hot City Night Fairy Tales
I came back with a good selection of charity shop purchases a couple of weeks back (plus a couple of new). The haul included disco and indie music, Hello Kitty, My Little Pony, Grimm’s Fairy Tales, Strawberry Shortcake, pirates and glitter!
Mr Karma Gummidge
My most recent charity shop purchases include Mr Men, Worzel Gummidge, Culture Club and an Elvis Chatimals. Sounds like the makings of a good night out!
You Should Be Knitting with Geoff Love
A trip down the road to the woodyard, then into the charity shop on the way back got me 9m of wood and these! A new Geoff Love LP, three 78’s, two knitting books with “interesting” fashion, and a Beatrix Potter book.
Madball Brush Styles
The weekend away visiting the folks scored me four kids annuals, a book on fashion and a Taschen book of 1940’s adverts.
Viva Popmobility
I came back with an excellent hoard of goodies from my local charity shop a short while back, including three records, seven books (Tony Hart and Cockleshell Bay) and two Equestria Girls dolls.
78rpm Record Hoard
I picked up sixty 78rpm 10″ records on my way home from work a few weeks back. An absolute bargain! They are all singles, and in OK condition with very few either jumpy or broken. Most are from 1950’s, a few from the 30’s/40’s and one is from 1912 or there abouts.
Henry’s Star Wars Playhour
A visit to the charity shops in Oldfield Park, Bath was as fruitful as usual. Finds include Star Wars, Barron Knight, Henry’s Cat, Sonic The Hedgehog, Playhour Annual 1977, and pop up Shakin’ Stevens!

I found this fantastic Thompson Twins picture disc and Muppet Show annual at a records and book fair in town on Saturday.

Found Under The Carpet
When we pulled the carpet up in the back room a couple of years ago, rather than underlay we discovered sheets of newspaper dating from Nov/Dec 1959 – the date my partner’s parents moved into the house. I whipped a small selection away before the builders arrived and stashed them in a cupboard until last week when I finally went through them.
The Machine Knitting Book by John Allen [1985]
I bought this book a few weeks back from a charity shop. One look at the cover and I knew it had to be mine! It’s surprisingly informative even if the designs are now dated. Plus, I own a knitting machine so it may even come in useful if ever I decide to knit myself a batwing jumper…
Roald Dahl LP’s
I was really pleased to find these two Roald Dahl LP a short while ago, which are actually read by the author himself. There were at least four in this series (1975-1980), three read by Dahl and one by his wife Particia Neal. They have heavy cardboard covers and seem to be fairly hard to find in the UK.
Soft Metal with Felicity Kendal
I bought several LP’s whilst visiting the folks a couple of weeks back. There was a whole hoard of soft rock cover albums, and several copies of Felicity Kendal to choose from. I also found a few singles, including a gate-fold.
Found In The Attic [April 2016]
On going through a few boxes and bags stored in the attic this weekend, I discovered a selections of items from the early 1970’s worth a second look. Amongst all the old paperwork, there were piles of cut-outs and clippings from various magazines, including sewing patterns and recipes, there was a large amount of greeting cards (used and unused) and a few old paper bags.
Barbara Cartland “The Romance Of Food” [1984]
Yes, I actually bought this cookery book! Replete with hearts, romantic quotes, health tips, and knick-knacks galore, this is now one of my favourite recipe books which I don’t use, along with my Worzel Gummidge cookbook. Both classics.
