“You’ve come a long way baby.”

These ads for Virginia Slims cigarettes date from 1990-94. The beginning of this decade saw a change in the overlaying graphics and the slogan become less prominent but the basic idea was still the same as the previous two decades. By the end of 1992, the ad campaign broke away completely from the previous long lived style with outdoor activities and even a few men!

1990-91

These ads all had a horizontal stripe of block colour going over the models with text inside.

1991-92

The blocks of coloured stripes were removed towards the end of 1991 and the logo was in prominent place again.

1992-94

Gone were the plain white backgrounds, now all photo-shoots were set outside with models in various social and active situations. They were all very colourful!
